How to keep track of your ever growing TBR list

Updated: May 31, 2021

I don't know about you, but I lose track of what I'm reading as well as books i've added to my TBR list. I used to use Goodreads to track books I'd read, but (in my opinion) it's one of the least user-friendly platforms that I think has ever been developed! Yes, it has some great functions. I love being able to save a list of quotes from books i've read, and that it can link to my kindle app. But these features don't make up for the confusing interface and dated visuals.

In terms of my TBR list, I pretty much just used Amazon wish lists or scraps of paper. I have a lot of issues with this now, but the main one is that Amazon just wasn't recommending any interesting books to me. It would repeatedly find similar narratives and assume i'd want to read the same theme and genre every time.

So i've moved on from Goodreads and Amazon. Unified my reading tracker and my TBR list.

What I'm Using Now:

So, what do I use to track both my TBR list as well as my current reads?

The StoryGraph

This is an exciting tool for any reader!

The StoryGraph is run and built by Nadia Odunayo and Rob Frelow.

You can search for books based on the mood your in. Want something emotional? Or are you in the mood for something mysterious? The StoryGraph has you covered!

Once you've found the perfect book and started reading, you can specify how far along you are in the book by pages or percentage.

You'll be recommended books based off of your preferences as well as your TBR list.

One of the things I like the best about The StoryGraph is how easy it is to leave a review! You'll be asked questions about the book which makes it super quick and easy to rate. You have to option to write something about the book and they tell you how to hide spoilers in your review!

It's an all round fantastic tool for readers designed by readers! They even have an app so you can add to your TBR list on-the-go!

Give it a try!
